Infiniti has given the G37 Sedan a mid-cycle refresh, including changes to the front and rear fascias, as well as to the luxurious interior.
For the latest model the headlights have become more angular and less bulbous than the previous model -- a look that's almost reminiscent of the original G35 coupe lamps. The grille has also been adjusted, and new fog lamp clusters look decidedly well integrated.
The rear bumper was also reworked, though it will take a trained eye to notice the differences. More obvious is the new 17-inch wheel design, which is standard.
Stepping inside the latest model year will reveal new gauges with a white back theme, which can be complimented by your choice or a new aluminum finish, or a maple trim. The center console and dash also received some stylization changes, and the seven-inch touch-screen now gives users access to real-time traffic and weather via XM satellite.
The G37 is also offered with Infiniti "intelligent" all-wheel drive system. Adding Infiniti's all-wheel-drive system (making it a G37x) bumps the price of entry to $36,050, compared to the standard base price of $33,250. In both variants, the engine delivers 328 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 269 pound-feet of torque at 5,200 rpm.
There is also an available Journey trim level, which slots between the base G37 sedan and the all-wheel drive G37 at $34,450, as well as a range-topping Sedan Sport which comes with a six-speed manual transmission and a base price of $37,000. All prices exclude the $895 destination charge.
Fuel economy is rated at 19 city, 27 highway for all rear-wheel drive models equipped with the standard seven-speed manumatic transmission, dropping the automatic for the six-speed manual drops fuel economy to 17 city, 25 highway.
For the G37x model, which comes with all-wheel drive, fuel economy is rated at 18 city and 25 highway.
The G37's second generation FM ("front mid-ship") platform features a four-wheel independent suspension system with lightweight aluminum components and improved body stiffness.
Available advanced technologies include RearView Monitor, a touch screen navigation system with available real-time traffic and the audiophile-quality Infiniti Studio on Wheels by Bose, combining the industry's first three-way front door speaker array using 10-inch woofers with an audiophile quality head unit incorporating a 24-bit Burr Brown Digital Audio Converter.
Comfort and convenience features include standard Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition, available Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS), wood trim and Intelligent Cruise Control with Preview Braking.
