2015 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Interior

If the latest releases from Infiniti are any indication, our favorite auto manufacturer has bold plans for the upcoming years. In fact, in a recent interview, Infiniti talked about some of the directions they’re headed with their luxury vehicles.

At Lake Norman Infiniti, we couldn’t be happier to hear the news. It looks like the next few years will be an exciting time for Infiniti enthusiasts. Infiniti has plans in the works to refine, upgrade and rename several of its flagship vehicles. For example, you’ll notice a new naming style for Infiniti vehicles, starting with a Q or QX prefix. And for an idea of the model upgrades, check out the refined 2015 Infiniti QX70 – the latest version of the crossover earns some serious style points.

What might be most exciting of all, though, is that Infiniti has plans to introduce a number of new vehicles in the near future, including a sleek, sportster hatchback (next year) and an aggressively designed coupe (around 2017-18).

It’s safe to say there’s a look of interesting things to keep an eye on at Infiniti over the next few years. Here are a few we’re most excited about:

  1. New 2015 Models: The 2015 Infiniti line-up makes lots to be excited about. For instance, the QX80 is the luxurious full-sized SUV ever offered by Infiniti. It has all the bells and whistles; in fact, there are no options, because they’re all included. Other changes include new exterior styling for the Q70 sedan (with an added longer version the Q70L) and new Q60 coupe models.
  2. The Q30 Hatchback: Currently Infiniti doesn’t have a true hatchback in the lineup, but that’s about to change. The manufacturer has plans to release the Q30 hatchback in the near future, which is welcome news for buyers interested in more compact Infiniti. Although the details are sparse, initial concept designs for the Q30 call for a four-door smoothly sculpted body, with performance engines from Benz. Recently, a few industry blogs spotted a Q30 out on the test track, which might mean this hatchback is ready to go as early as 2016? We’ll have to wait and see.
  3. A New Naming Language for Infiniti Vehicles: Over the last few years, you might have noticed that the names of some of your favorite Infiniti vehicles have changed. For instance, last year the G37 sedan transitioned into the Q40 sedan this year. Additionally, all Infiniti SUVs have shifted to new names starting with QX. The reason for this? Infiniti has begun to develop a new hierarchy for their vehicles, and the Q prefixes made that less confusing. Plus, with many models up for redesigns soon, it was an ideal time.

Several popular Infiniti vehicles are due for complete redesigns in the next few years. We’re only guessing at this point, but some are speculating the QX50 might be next. Plus, Infiniti has hinted at a few completely new flagship models. These include a RWD luxury sedan – no word on what they might call it – but it will compete with other options from BMW and Porsche.
